According to the Mirror reports, Premier League giants Arsenal are seeking an alternative of Shkordan Mustafi and identified Fabian Schar as their next target after German star.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a new centre-back following Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista’s injuries and ready to pay £9m for Hoffenheim ace Fabian Schar to solve the crisis on the defensive end.
German international centre-back Mertesacker has been ruled out for two months, and Arsenal are desperate to sign a quality player ahead of new season.
While Brazilian defender is expected to be out for six to eight weeks due to an ankle injury.
Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi has been a No.1 transfer target for Arsene Wenger, but it is believed that Chelsea have also in the market for German star, and Arsene Wenger might be seeking an alternative for Mustafi.
German outlet SportBild reported that the Gunners are also interested in Hoffenheim’s Schar and would make an official approach before the season ends.
The 24-year-old star is believed to be available around £9m.
Valencia have also been linked with a move for the Switzerland international as they have identified him as a replacement fro Mustafi whose future remains unclear.
