Former Leeds United player David Prutton believes that new Whites acquisition Eddie Nketiah will provide the manager Marcelo Bielsa with a different option in the final third.
The Yorkshire side managed to seal a deadline day loan deal for the highly-rated Arsenal talent and his arrival was much-needed after top scorer from the previous season, Kemar Roofe, left for Anderlecht.
Eddie boasts electric pace and has netted goals consistently coming through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium, whilst the player also shone in pre-season for the Gunners.
And, David, now a Sky Sports pundit, wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column that the 20-year-old ace is going to give Leeds United a different dimension and he feels the pressure of attempting to make it at Arsenal means he’ll be able to cope with the demands at the Elland Road.
“I think Nketiah adds to what could potentially be a very exciting, attack-minded side but maybe just gives it a different string to its bow.” – David said.
“And maybe that element of where Nketiah has come from and who he has played in front of – albeit a handful of times – stands him in good stead for the expectation level of two games a week in front of big crowds when you are at home, a big travelling support and a club looking to put the disappointment of last season behind them.”
Bringing Eddie in was a major coup for the EFL Championship club as he is a brilliant prospect and he proved in July with Arsenal in the pre-season campaign that he has so much quality.
