Dayot Upamecano has opened the door to a summer transfer window exit from RB Leipzig. The Frenchman has caught the eye of numerous clubs with a string of exciting displays for the Bundesliga outfit.
Among the teams interested in taking the defender’s services are Premier League big boys the Gunners, who are long-term admirers of the defender.
It’s understood new Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta contemplated bringing the 21-year-old defender to the Emirates before joining Pablo Mari on loan.
According to reports, Arsenal will renew their interest in Dayot Upamecano in the summer.
The France Under-21 international defender is seemingly not opposed to the idea of moving on to pastures new, though he insists his sole focus at this moment in time is helping RB Leipzig end Bayern Munich’s dominance of the Bundesliga.
When pressed about his future during an interview with RMC Sport, Dayot Upamecano said: “As I said, first I focus on Leipzig.
“And afterwards, I know that I am being courted, that there are clubs that want me.
“I will talk well with my agents and my parents at the end of the season. And we will make the right decision.”
RB Leipzig are eager to hold on to Dayot Upamecano’s services and have slapped a £50million price tag on him to ward off potential suitors.
