Arsenal are reportedly plotting summer move for Austrian club RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who as been compared to Real Madrid playmaker Toni Kroos.
Aaron Ramsey has departed from the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer to join Serie A champions Juventus ahead of the summer and Unai Emery has his eye on a number of players as he looks to fill the void left by Ramsey’s exit.
The North London club will only have around £45million to spend on reinforcements after their failure to play Champions League football next season and Emery hopes to add a playmaker to his ranks, as well as a defender a left-back and a winger.
According to football.london, the Gunners have identified 18-year-old Szoboszlai as a potential successor to Aaron Ramsey following the youngster’s impressive breakthrough campaign with Salzburg.
Szoboszlai has found back of the net three times in 16 games as Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga for a sixth successive season.
The £15m-rated attacker has also been rumoured with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Lazio and Juventus in recent weeks
Szoboszlai’s agent, Matyas Esterhazy, has rubbished speculation that the promising playmaker could be set for a move to te Premier League this summer.
‘I can confirm a number of the top Premier League clubs are interested in Dominik,’ Esterhazy told football.london.
‘But at this point I can not confirm or deny specific clubs.
‘My client is focusing on his current club and the upcoming challenges of the next season both in the league and the Champions League.’
Szoboszlai revealed that others have compared him to Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
‘A lot of people say that my style of play is close to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Toni Kroos,’ the Hungary international said.
‘It is a great thing to hear that.’
