Deal to be announced soon: Arsenal completed the signing of Norwegian talent
Arsenal have reportedly completed the signing of 19-year-old Norwegian talent George Lewis.
Earlier this month it was reported that the Rwandan-born winger had impressed the Gunners while on trial in March this according to Goal.com’s Charles Watts and the 19-year-old Norwegian starlet joins the Gunners U-23 side.
News of the transfer comes from his former team Fram Larvik, as their sporting director Jostein Jensen, confirms transfer to VG.no: “Yes, we can confirm that. I have been told that he has signed for Arsenal.”
Quite why a team that let him go would have the inside track is unclear.
The agent of 19-year-old, Cheikh Diaw, has also played up the move, although he refused to confirm or deny that his client is officially a Gunners player.
“He’s ready for Arsenal, yes. The club has not made it official yet, but he has signed for the club. They are really looking forward to getting George, who they see as an exciting player.”
Before Arsenal fans getting too excited about a player who seemingly failed to impress in the Norwegian third tier, they should wait official confirmation from the club, however, it seems that the Gunners will announce the signing within days.
Arsenal keen on to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster next month
Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adil Aouchiche as a potential target in the upcoming transfer window.
Given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, the North London club are expected to be restricted during the summer transfer window.
While Arteta is unlikely to be provided with significant funds this summer, reports from France claim that the Gunner are contemplating a bid for PSG ace, Aouchiche.
Although the 17-year-old has already played his first-team debut for the French champions, he is yet to extend his deal past the end of this campaign.
That has seemingly led to the Gunners taking an interest as they look for value for money next month when the transfer window will be re-opened.
According to ESPN, Aouchiche has been encouraged by his family to consider his options, saying that regular first-team football may be more important than spending time on the PSG’s reserves.
