Arsenal are in talks to sign Ipswich wonderkid Marcelo Flores this summer, beating local rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. The Tractor Boys managed to snare the Mexican away from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona when he signed for the Championship club back in January 2017, and the 15-year-old has been progressing well at the club since then.
And it appears the Gunners are now the latest big club to try and land the youngster. As the Daily Mirror is reporting, the Gunners are willing to bring Flores to north London this summer, with talks underway. Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is the man who has eyed the teen, as he continues his overhaul of Emirates.
Marcelo Flores spoke out recently about his aspirations, claiming he wants to play in the Premier League one day. “One of my ambitions is to play professionally in the Premier League,” he told the East Anglian Daily Times. “But I would also like to play worldwide, in La Liga.”
“Internationally, my favourite is [Lionel] Messi. “While in the Premier League, I like watching Eden Hazard – I try to model my game on them both.”
