Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are keen on to beat Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the transfer race for Schalke playmaker Leon Goretzka, who is set to leave the club after the season ends.
The 22-year-old German midfielder’s current deal with Schalke expires at the end of 2017/18 season, and he is yet to sit down with the club to discuss a contract extension.
Schalke have made it clear that they are desperate to keep German playmaker. However, there are suggestions that player himself is refusing to sign a new deal in order to join any club he wants in the summer.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have all expressed interest in Goretzka and there is also talks that Schalke’s Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich are also in the hunt for his signature.
But, according to Bild, Borussia Dortmund have now joined the race for Goretzka as they are keen on to strengthen midfield options following their terrible form in Europe after Champions League’s three games the German giants sit third in the Group.
BVB are keen to hold talks with the player’s representatives in the upcoming month as they look to convince him to move to the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season.
