Arsenal are lining up an offer for on-loan Real Madrid playmaker Martin Odegaard, according to the latest reports.
A Spanish news outlet EL Desmarque states Unai Emery wants the Norwegian sensation to replace Mesut Ozil next summer.
The 20-year-old appears to have finally found his form after seasons in the wilderness following a high-profile to transfer to Real at the age of 15.
His time in the youth set-up was far from straight forward, but loan spells in the Netherlands with Vitesse and Heerenveen helped secure a move to La Liga club Real Sociedad this summer.
Martin has since been in terrific form, netting twice and assisting once in just six matches to be named Player of the Month and the Gunners are now said to be looking at bringing the player to the Premier League.
Mesut has fallen down the Emirates Stadium pecking order under head coach Unai Emery. Dani Ceballos is the preferred No 10 for Arsenal right now.
But his deal from Los Blancos is just a loan, and there is every chance chief Zinedine Zidane will want him back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Martin could be available for transfer after failing to make the grade for the Galacticos but Arsenal may have to spend as much as £71 million to secure his signature.
Premier League rivals Wolves are also keen, although they are hoping to pay a significantly smaller sum.
