Arsenal have reportedly joined direct Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race to secure services of Borussia Monchengladbach attacking midfielder Thorgan Hazard this summer’s transfer window.
The 25-year-old attacker who is the brother of the Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has found back of the net 12 times and provided 11 assists in 31 games for Gladbach this campaign.
Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have both been heavily linked with securing the Belgium international star.
However, according to The Sun, the Gunners head-coach Unai Emery is ‘a huge fan’ of Hazard, with the North London club ‘closely keeping tabs on his situation’ ahead of the 2019-2020 season.
Belgian forward, who did not make a single appearance for the Blues during his time at the Stamford Bridge, will see his current contract with Gladbach expire at the end of next campaign.
Liverpool are keen on to strengthen their offensive end ahead of the next season in order to compete for all possible trophies especially if Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah leave the Anfield following strong interest from Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a summer move for Mainz 05 defender Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
The North London club are believed to make a move for at least one centre-back at the end of the current campaign and have been rumoured with a move for Barcelona’s defensive rock Samuel Umtiti.
Frenchman is reportedly heading for Serie A champions Juventus, though, which has forced the Gunners into a rethink and look for another quality players in the summer.
According to Fussball Transfers, Gbamin has been valued around £30m for the upcoming transfer window and Unai Emery’s side are planning to make a swoop for the 23-year-old centre-back
