Arsenal are reportedly ready to swoop for Juan Mata if the Manchester United midfielder is not offered a new deal at Old Trafford.

Juan Mata’s current deal expires in the summer, and the Red Devils are yet to make the Spain international an offer to remain stay. The Daily Mail claims Juan Mata is entirely ‘in the dark’ over his future at Manchester club and is still waiting for the side to make their move.

With confusion about Juan Mata’s position at the club, Unai Emery is waiting in the wings to take advantage. The Arsenal manager worked with 30-year-old in their Valencia days and would love to have him at Emirates.

Juan Mata is currently earning £140,000 a week and would want to stay in the Premier League if Manchester United look to offload him.

20-times English champions triggered a 12-month extension in the deal at the end of last year, and the midfielder reminded Jose Mourinho of his worth in the stunning comeback win over Juventus.

Jose Mourinho was the one who sold the World Cup winner to Manchester United when he was still Chelsea manager, and the attacker has struggled to win a regular place in the Red Devils’ starting eleven.
