Arsenal will have to pay around £25m for Belgian forward Yannick Carrasco after his Chinese team Dalian Yifang set their price for the national team. according to the Evening Standard.
The former Atletico Madrid star has been on the Gunners radar since January and almost joined on loan before Unai Emery decided to sign Barcelona star Denis Suarez.
The Catalan clubs midfielder’s failure to make an impression in the Gunners means that the club have revisited a potential move for 25-year-old Belgian midfielder and they made an enquiry about taking him on loan spell with an option to make his move permanent.
Dalian Yifang are reluctant to loan their star player and would rather offload him permanently reinvest the money to sign a new global star.
Carrasco is believed to be earning approximately £170,000 per week in China, however, is believed to be willing to lower his wage demands to make a return to Europe.
Last week, Belgian attacker has confirmed his intention to depart from China, saying: ‘From a family point of view,
“I would rather play in Europe and stay closer to my family.
‘The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there [China].’
Emery’s desire to improve his team this summer has been made tougher due to the team’s restrictive transfer budget which is believed to be around £40-45m.
