Brazil sensation Gabriel Martinelli has dropped hint at a move to Arsenal by following the North London club on social media ahead of a prospective £6.5million move to the Emirates Stadium.
The North London club have tracked the 17-year-old attacker for the last 18 months after the head of international recruitment Francis Cagigao flagged up the forward’s potential.
Martinelli qualifies for Italy through his Father’s citizenship and will therefore not need a work permit to complete his move to the North London club.

It’s unclear whether the Brazilian wonderkid will go straight into Unai Emery’s starting lineup or whether the striker will have to bide his time to breakthrough.
The Gunners transfer budget is expected to be a modest £45m in the summer and Emery will consider selling some players to raise funds in order to sign quality players.
The Spaniard has confirmed after the Norht London club’ Europa League final loss to Chelsea that there would be exit as a result of the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League football.
‘Our idea is to continue to carry on and improve with the young players that have arrived,’ Emery said.
‘Maybe some players need to leave but it’s not the moment to speak about that.’
‘We have the possibility for a lot of players to improve. We have young players getting the first experience of a final and I am positive for our future with young players getting better in our way.
‘I am very proud of our work, not very proud to not achieve our target, but proud of our work because I think the players did all they could to achieve our target and we are closer to other teams.
‘The next year we can continue with the same team with some players coming to help us get better’
Arsenal have approached Serie A outfits Fiorentina over a potential deal for their star player Jordan Veretout, despite the Frenchman being on the brink of signing for Napoli.
Unai Emery is looking to make significant changes to his team this summer, however, after failing to qualify for the Champions League means they will have a reduced transfer budget that is believed to be around £35million.
That means the North London club will need to be more creative in the market, and, according to L’Equipe, they plan to sign Veretout ahead of the next campaign.
Emery is keen to sign a box-to-box midfielder in order to replace Aaron Ramsey who has signed £400,000 per week contract to Serie A champions Juventus.
The 26-year-old, who had a brief and rather unsuccessful spell at Championship club has thrived since moving to Serie A outfits and was one of the side’s stand-out players last campaign, founding back of the net five times and laying on three assists from midfield area.
He had been expected to join Napoli, however, now Arsenal have joined the race and are currently frontrunners to lure Fiorentina star at the Emirates Stadium.
He has been contracted with Fiorentina until 2021 and the Serie A club are expected to receive a sizeable fee for their star player.
Arsenal head-coach Emery is in need of a new midfielder this summer and has also been rumoured with Sampdoria’s star Dennis Praet who has played with alongside Torreira at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
"I will still be at Barcelona next season" - Arsenal handed massive blow in their pursuit of French defender
Arsenal long-term target Samuel Umtiti insists he will remain at Barcelona this summer, despite interest from hosts of European teams.
Unai Emery has reportedly identified the French defender as his No.1 transfer target and the Catalan club are prepared to offload him.
However, Umtiti dismissed the growing transfer rumours surrounding him and confirmed that he intends to remain at Nou Camp.
He told RTL France: ‘I have a contract, I feel happy in Barcelona. I had a complicated season, but I will still be at Barcelona next season.’
The statement will come as a huge blow to Spaniard boss, who is desperate to strengthen his team this summer.
The Gunners suffered a humiliating end to their season with a 4-1 loss to their bitter rivals Chelsea in the Europa League final, missing out on Champions League football for the next campaign as they have also failed to finish 2018/19 season on top four of the Premier League table.
Emery has been handed just £45million this summer and might be forced to sell some of their star players to gether pounds in order to add quality players.
Although the Catalan club might be open to Frenchman departing this summer, the 25-year-old is contracted at the club until 2023.
Whatever happens with France international star, Arsenal do appear to be closing in on the double signing of centre-back Joachim Andersen and midfielder Dennis Praet.
The Gunners have bid £44m for the Serie A outfits, Sampdoria duo and their offer is expected to be accepted ahead of the next season.
