As The Times claims, Arsenal are worried that midfielder Aaron Ramsey will intentionally run down his contract into its final year to force a massive pay rise.
The newspaper report that the Wales international is out of contract in the summer of 2019 and the club have begun talks over a new deal for the 27-year-old.
The Times claim that Arsenal are determined to avoid the similar situation with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this season, but there are fears that Ramsey will attempt to manoeuvre into the same position.
Chilean forward forced his club to sell him for the rival Manchester United, which was a blow Arsene Wenger, but on the other hand, French manager brought some reinforcements.
It is said that Ramsey is currently earning around £110,000-a-week, but is likely to be pushing for a huge pay rise after the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who are both on £170,000-a-week.
Welsh midfielder is having a pretty solid season as he recorded 8 goals and 6 assists in 18 Premier League appearances.
He joined Arsenal back in 2008 with a £5 million deal and quickly gained starting role and established himself as one of the most reliable centre midfielders.
