Arsenal are reportedly in negotiations with former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves over a possible summer move during this transfer window.
According to respected Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the Gunners are the latest side to be connected with Dani Alves, who is a free agent after running down his deal with PSG.
The Brazilian defender is also the subject of interest from former side Barcelona, with fleeting links with Manchester City appeared as well.
The star has enjoyed the status of the living legend before even calling time on their professional careers.
In a career that has lasted nearly two decades, the South American defender has gone on to amass 40 titles for country and club to become the most successful player of all time.
The latest success came with Brazil as Alves donned the armband for the Selecao and guided his country to their first Copa America trophy since 2007. In doing so, he was also named ‘the best player in the competition’.
And, having become a free agent after the culmination of his deal with Paris Saint-Germain, the 36-year-old has become a hot property in the transfer window.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have also been connected with the Brazil defender and could have a role to play in the race to land him. But, Arsenal will hope to secure a deal quickly, having already contacted him and his representatives.
With Hector Bellerin still not fully fit, Dani could be able to stake claim to be the first-choice right-back immediately, although a return to Blaugrana would always be alluring.
It now remains to be seen which way his career takes him, as the race to land him continues to intensify.
