The London giants could reportedly be offered two Real Madrid footballers in a transfer deal for unsettled centre-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 31-year-old striker has been a world-class performer for the Gunners in recent times, but is in the final year of his deal and seemingly no closer to renewing.
Arsenal may well lose Pierre-Emerick to a bigger club this summer, and it’s little surprise to see Los Blancos being linked with him.
Aubameyang is wanted by La Liga giants president Florentino Perez, who would be willing to offer both Mariano Diaz and Lucas Vazquez to the London club as part of the deal.
Neither footballer has been a regular for Real Madrid in recent times, so it makes sense that Los Blancos are apparently willing to let them go. The duo are decent footballers, however, so could be useful additions for the Gunners even if they are dealt the blow of losing Gabon international.
Landing two footballers for one is not an opportunity to be sniffed at, with Mariano providing a new option up front, while Vazquez would be a fine signing out wide.
The Spanish wide-man has often been a valuable squad player for Real Madrid, so could do a job for Mikel Arteta’s side, with footballers like Nicolas Pepe and Reiss Nelson not having the best campaigns in that area of the pitch.
