Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was linked with a transfer to Real Madrid before joining the north London outfit.
The Gunners star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains intrigued by the prospect of potentially joining Real Madrid, reports say.
The Gabonese had his heart set on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu during his days at Borussia Dortmund, frequently talking up the La Liga club.
He moved to Arsenal in the winter transfer window of 2018, however, after Real Madrid failed to make an offer for him.
Yet Spanish media outlet Defensa Central say Pierre-Emerick has been talking with Dani Ceballos in private about what life at the Santiago Bernabeu is like.
As well as Dani, Aubameyang has supposedly been talking about Los Blancos with the former Germany international Mesut Ozil.
Ozil spent three successful seasons at the club between 2010 and 2013, helping them win the La Liga trophy under Jose Mourinho in that time.
The attacking midfielder was eventually sold, though, to make room for Wales international Gareth Bale.
Aubameyang is understood to still hold the hope of playing for the Galacticos, which has always been his dream.
The 30-year-old star said in 2016 that he was destined to make the switch and that he promised his grandfather he would.
“Before he died two years ago I promised him that one day I would play for Real Madrid,” Pierre-Emerick said to L’Equipe.
“My grandfather was from Avila, not far from Madrid. It’s what I said to him. I know it’s not easy but it’s something I keep in mind.”
