Serie A giants AC Milan have reportedly upped their interest in securing services of Cagliari Calcio playmaker Nicolo Barella.
The Italy international fine form has attracted strong interest from the top teams from the Premier League during the January transfer window, with Chelsea and Arsenal both believed to be admirers of the player.
However, a deal has never materialised, and there have been suggestions that Italian playmaker may prefer to continue playing in Italian top-tier at this stage of his career and AC Milan seems to be an ideal place for him.
According to Sky Italia, the Rossoneri have made a deal with Serie A club Cagliari to discuss a contract for Barella ahead of the summer window.
The report suggested that AC Milan sporting director Leonardo and Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini have held transfer talks, although it is alleged that 22-year-old Barella could cost in the region of €50m (£43.16m).
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea also eyeing move for AC Milan winger Suso as both of the London club are determined to strengthen their offensive end ahead of the next season.
Spanish winger has yet to agree on a contract extension with only one year left on his current deal and hosts of top teams are keen on to lure one of the key players of AC Milan.
