Glasgow Rangers appear to have hit a stumbling block in their bid to bring Jack Simpson to Ibrox, so they will switch their focus on trying to sign Krystian Bielik from Arsenal, who is much more established at senior level than Simpson, having enjoyed loan spells with the likes of Birmingham City and Walsall.
The youngster has also made a couple of appearances for the Gunners’ first-team.
Krystian Bielik is not only capable of playing at centre-back, but he can also play slightly further forward in a holding role. The Premiership giants have a lot of options in midfield, but that versatility would still be a plus for former Liverpool captain as it becomes more difficult to sign players.
The 20-year-old Polish can play out from the back so would probably be more than comfortable providing cover for the likes of Goldson and Katic, and would arguably be a much safer option for the team than Jack Simpson who is a little more unproven.
It is not perfect to sign another player on loan when the club already have a handful of players in on temporary deals, but the Gunners’ youngster is an up-and-coming talent who could prove to be an inspired signing if the Polishman did arrive for the coming season.
