Eddie Nketiah completed for his 10th benching of the campaign at Leeds United on Saturday, but his Arsenal manager Unai Emery has no plans to recall him.

The England under-21 star, who netted four goals in two matches during the last international break, is hitting on Marcelo Bielsa’s door for more starts.

Patrick Bamford, 26-year-old more experienced competitor for United’s one striking place, has had a year’s head start on Nketiah in Bielsa’s school of tactics.

Nketiah began his loan spell explosively with four goals in his first six games but hadn’t had it his way in his last four plays from the bench.

The 20-year-old has only had 207 minutes of league football so far, and many of the supporters at Unai Emery’s side are wondering why he’s not getting more time.

The Gunners tactician addressed the point ahead of Monday night’s Premier League match with Sheffield United with a fresh take on the situation.

“Now is not the moment in October. He is now on loan in Leeds. First, I respect his coach and his decision,” he said.

“And I think he is going to play more, because he is going to deserve it.”
