Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga and sent scouts to watch his eye-catching performance against Ligue 1 defending champions, PSG.
The 16-year-old, who made a handful of appearances last campaign, is extremely highly-rated in France and showed exactly why as he bossed the PSG midfield in a surprise 2-1 victory for his team.
According to the Daily Mail, he is already on the radar of a host of Premier League teams, including Man City, Tottenham and Arsenal.
All three sent scouts to Roazhon Park to keep close tabs on talented midfielder against PSG, while Spurs even tried to sign him over the summer.
Camavinga was the star of the show against PSG, hustling in midfield, showing poise on the ball, bursting front and setting up a goal with a perfect cross.
The African midfielder has started all three of Rennes’ Ligue 1 games so far this campaign and is the process of gaining French nationality.
Rennes head-coach Julien Stephan spoke about his performance afterwards: ‘He played a match, indeed, like the whole team – very interesting.
‘We are talking to him. He is someone who is also very well-constructed intellectually, who knows how to question himself, who knows how to ask the right questions.
‘Many of the pros have taken him under their wing, because he is very respectful in the dressing room and very attentive to their advice. He blossomed with us this summer.’
It is not just Premier League teams interested in the signing of 16-year-old midfielder with PSG and Bayern Munich also keeping tabs on his progress.
