Spanish newspaper AS have claimed that Isco needs to leave Real Madrid in the winter transfer window on loan and that Manchester City and Arsenal are ‘firm admirers’ of the Spanish playmaker.
The 27-year-old midfielder has fallen down the pecking order slightly at Spain giants, following the joining of Eden Hazard. The 38-time Spain international has managed just four games this campaign, but injury has stopped him from making more.
With Hazard and Gareth Bale supporting Karim Benzema, and Casemeiro, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde all playing in central midfield, Isco has little possibility of breaking into the Real side.
According to the reports Isco is desperate to move on loan, after being told by Spainboss Robert Moreno that he wants to be playing regularly if he is to defend his place in the Euro 2020 line-up AS have claimed that Spain playmaker has a £600million release clause.
The situation surrounding Mesut Ozil means the Gunners have lost their most creative player. Nicolas Pepe is trying to recreate last season’s form for Lille following his transfer, and Arsenal need an injection of talent and creativity.
Landing Isco on loan – to join with another Real Madrid loanee in Dani Ceballos – would be an extraordinary bit of business by Unai Emery. But the trick of Manchester City may prove difficult for Isco to ignore.
