Man Utd head-coach Jose Mourinho is jealous of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Alan Shearer claims.
The Red Devils were stunned by Chris Houghton’s Brighton that have beat them 3-2.
Paul Pogba has scored a late consolation penalty, however, the damage was already done as they have lost the game.
United scraped past the Foxes on an opening day and the Reds have struggled to find form under Jose Mourinho.
The Citizens on the other hand, dominated against Arsenal on the opening weekend and destroyed 6-1 Huddersfield.
Pep Guardiola’s squad are looking to secure back-to-back titles – and the Citizens already look unstoppable this season again.
And Premier League legend Allan Shearer has hit out at Mourinho, claiming that the Red Devils are jealous of Pep Guardiola and Man City’s success.
“Jose Mourinho has criticised the Manchester City TV documentary, saying “you cannot buy class”,” Shearer told The Sun.
“It is typical Jose, trying to look after his own club.
“But he is just jealous that City were successful last season and Manchester United were not.
“The fact of the matter is, Jose wishes United were in City’s position.
“From what I have seen of the documentary, it is a great insight into what makes Pep Guardiola tick and the reasons why he is so very good.”
Mourinho has slammed the Citizens claiming you cannot buy class.
Mourinho said: “I think you can have a fantastic movie, respecting others. You don’t need to be disrespectful.
“I haven’t seen it but I know a few things about the movie.
“My reaction is if you are a rich club you can buy top players, you cannot buy class. That is my first reaction.
“The second reaction is because I am in the movie, I could ask for some royalties.”
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola hit back at Mourinho’s comments, claiming the documentary wasn’t disrespectful in any way.
“I think we lived an amazing season with cameras. We did it for ourselves,” said Guardiola.
“It is Jose’s opinion.”
