Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, states Manchester United legend Paul Scholes would not recognise a leader ‘if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill’.
The former England international criticised Paul Pogba after Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Brighton for failing to show leadership against the Seagulls following Jose Mourinho’s choice to hand him the captain’s armband.
The France international has scored twice in two games from the penalty spot this season and he has been heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford due to his strained relationship with the manager, who believes Mino Raiola has been engineering the superstar’s move away from the Theatre of Dreams.
And the agent has done little to quash the speculation today with a scathing attack on Mourinho.
‘Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten,’ tweeted Raiola. ‘Paul Scholes wouldn’t recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill. Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club.’
Mino Raiola copied Paul Pogba into both of the tweets, and Manchester United are likely to be angered by the public nature of the Dutchman’s remarks.
