Yerry Mina has no plans to leave Spanish champions Barcelona after being rumoured with a move to Liverpool, according to the player’s agent.
The Colombia international centre-back has joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in a deal believed to worth around €11.8 million (£10.5m) during the January transfer window, however, he has made only six appearances for the Catalan club until the end of the current campaign.
Colombian defender has impressed during the World Cup in Russia, which ended on Tuesday evening for his country as they have been eliminated by England after a dramatic penalty shootout.
And the 23-year-old has subsequently been rumoured with a loan move to Liverpool.
‘I’m not aware of any bids,’ Jair Mina told RAC1.
‘The player has a contract with Barcelona and wants to stay at Barcelona. We’re going to see what the situation is with the club, but we don’t have any information [regarding a move].
‘He moved in January to succeed at a big club and Barca are a big club.
‘He is convinced he will get the chance to do big things and our idea is that he stays where he is.
