Chelsea long-term target Hakan Calhanoglu can leave Bayer Leverkusen in the Summer, according to the player’s agent Bektas Demitras.
Chalhanoglu has long been regarded as one of the finest talents in Europe and Chelsea are desperate to sign him in order to replace Nemanja Matic who is rumoured to join Man United next season.
Chelsea are the most recent clubs from Premier League to have expressed interest in the 23-year-old midfielder, and the player’s agent Demitras has said that Leverkusen are ready to allow Calhanoglu go at the end of the current campaign if the right offers to arrive.
Calhanoglu, however, is also keen to find the right club after spending most of his time in Bundesliga and Chelsea could be an ideal step up in his career.
‘Hakan will be (under contract) at Leverkusen for three years,’ Demitras told Kicker.
‘If an offer comes along, that is fine for Bayer, and which also fits with Hakan, we will do a transfer. But the final decision lies with the club.’
Calhanoglu was recently quoted as naming Chelsea as the club of his choice for his next move.
