Chelsea long-term target Callum Wilson has insisted that he is “happy” at Bournemouth amid interest from hosts of European teams.
England international star has impressed this summer and hosts of teams in the Premier League are in the hunt for his services after the season ends.
The Blues are expected to make a move for a new striker at the end of the current campaign and have been rumoured with Callum Wilson, who has found back of the net 12 times for the Cherries this season.
The 27-year-old forward has revealed that he has aspirations of playing in Europe’s most elite competition, Champions League, however, is currently ‘focused’ on his job at the Cherries.
“I signed a long-term contract, I’m happy down there – I’m playing football,” he told the Daily Star. I’m happiest when I’m on the pitch. I never want to go and sort of be somewhere that I’m not going to play.
“I never want to see myself not playing at Bournemouth even, being on the bench and things like that. Any player has aspirations to play for their country, like I’ve managed to do thankfully, and play in the Champions League – different big occasions and big stages.
“I’ve been linked (with big clubs) from a young age when I’m doing well – so I tend not to buy into it really. It can sway you off what you need to do and take away your focus.”
Wilson has managed to found back of the net 56 times in 144 games for Bournemouth since joining them from Coventry City back in a 2014 move.
