Calum Chambers has praised Fulham’s remarkable Championship promotion run last campaign and insists that his loan switch from Arsenal “just felt right”.
The Englishman signed a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium last month, but the Gunners allowed him to seek the first-team experience elsewhere.
London rivals Fulham recruited Calum Chambers for the duration of the 2018-19 season earlier this week, and the 23-year-old England international is looking forward to turning out for a side that plays exciting football.
“It was amazing. The run you guys went on towards the end of the season was incredible,” Chambers told the official website. The style in which Fulham played is not easy, in that league especially, so to do that and be successful with it was great to see.”
“Everyone can see that Fulham’s a club that likes to play football, play football from the back, through the lines. That’s the style of football I like to play as well, so I think it fits me and suits the way I play.”
“I’m excited. I watched a lot of Fulham last season, I like the way they play football, there’s a good manager, it’s a great club, so I’m excited for the season ahead. I know a lot about the club, so when I heard that Fulham were interested in having me here I was really happy, and I wanted to come. Everything just felt right.”
