The agent of Chelsea midfielder destroyer Jorginho has revealed that his client is unlikely to depart from Stamford Bridge this summer despite rumours linking him with a switch to Juventus.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been a vital player for the West London club this campaign, founding back of the net seven times and provided two assists in 37 games in all competitions.
There has been rumours surrounding his future in the recent weeks, with Serie A champions believed to be interested in signing him.
However, the Italy international’s agent Joao Santos has revealed that his client is likely to remain at Stamford Bridge.
“His price tag has certainly gone up over the last two years, as he has done well in London and become a regular for Italy,” Santos told Calciomercato.
“He is now the vice-captain at Chelsea and has amassed a great deal of experience playing in the Champions League and Europa League. I think it’s very unlikely an offer will come in for Jorginho, because nobody can afford to make that kind of investment in the market right now.
“Because of the pandemic, nobody knows when we can return to normal or even play with fans in the stadium, so that’s a big problem for the transfer market.”
Jorginho’s current contract with Chelsea is set to expire in June 2023 and it seems unlikely to see him leaving the Stamford Bridge this summer despite a chance to be reunited with his former, manager Maurizio Sarri.
