Manchester United head-coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that Morgan Schneiderlin transfer to Everton is “very close”.
Roland Koeman’s side have agreed a £22 million deal for 27-year-old midfielder who has fallen out-of-favour at Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
Man United Ceo Ed Woodward has apparently informed former Chelsea and Man United manager that Schneiderlin’s transfer to Goodison Park is on the card and Portuguese coach has confirmed it after Hull City win.
‘No details but before the match I was informed by Mr Woodward that the situation is to close,’ Mourinho said on Tuesday.
‘So Morgan is more than probably going to Everton.’
Schneiderlin has found it tough with the Red Devils, and has played for just 11 minutes in the Premier League this season.
However, the midfielder could be an important signing for Ronald Koeman, who worked with the 27-year-old at Southampton before losing him to Old Trafford.
Everton may be hoping to have the deal completed in time for their game with Manchester City on Sunday, given that Idrissa Gueye has left for the African Cup of Nations – leaving them short in the middle of the park.
