Premier League defending champions Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso insists he’s happy at Stamford Bridge, however, refused to rule out a move to Spain.

The Spaniard joined Chelsea last season in a deal believed to worth around £24million from Serie An outfit Fiorentina.

Alonso lifted the Premier League trophy during his debut campaign for Chelsea playing a vital role in their success.

The 26-year-old has started his football career at Real Madrid, however, then he moves to Bolton to secure regular first-team football, and now it seems that Spanish full-back is considering a possible return to his homeland.

And, although Alonso says he’s happy in west London, he might make a return to La Liga in the nearby future.

‘I’m very happy at Chelsea, but I would like to return to Spain one day,’ Alonso told Cadena Ser.

‘Before I retire I’d like to play in La Liga. I haven’t played much there.

‘But i’m very happy in London. All I think about is the game against Crystal Palace.’

The Spain international defender has moved to Stamford Bridge raised some eyebrows. However, his performance has silenced the doubters.

‘I’ve continued my development at Chelsea and I have to continue to work in order to improve,’ said Alonso.

‘I like the Premier League and to have the opportunity to play for Chelsea and win titles.’

The 25-year-old Chelsea defender has continued his fine form this term and established himself as one of the key players for Antonio Conte.
