Chelsea have finalised the signing of Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta on a four-year deal, according to the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old Serie A star has joined Premier League champions on the deadline day of the transfer window, with the Blues understood to have agreed a £21m deal for his signature.
A statement on the Torino club website confirmed the departure of Italian defender last night.
Italy international full-back has been identified as a potential replacement for Victor Moses who has failed to impress this season.
Zapacosta was excited after completing a move to Chelsea and keen on to work under Antonio Conte.
“It is a dream for me to join Chelsea and play in the Premier League. I am very excited to be here and start working with the team. I hope I can show my quality to the coach, my teammates and the supporters,” Zappacosta told the club’s official website.
Technical director Michael Emenalo added: “Davide is a player of international calibre who Antonio Conte knows well and we have been aware of for some time. We are very pleased to be able to bring him to the club and believe he will become an important member of the squad.”
