Liverpool are set to raid Leicester this summer for Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to the Telegraph reports.
The 21-year-old star has followed in the footsteps of N’Golo Kante and established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the English top tier.
Reports suggest that the Merseyside Reds have identified France international midfielder as their top transfer target this summer.
Liverpool head-coach Jurgen Klopp is looking to add steel to his midfield and Nigerian star physical approach to the game makes him an ideal target.
Nigeria international midfielder has completed the most tackles per 90 minutes in England this campaign.
It’s believed that Liverpool should consider a fee in the region of £50m in order to price Ndidi fro the King Power Stadium.
Former Nigeria international Etim Esin believes his compatriot can easily become a first-team player at Jurgen Klopp’s side.
He said: “I can’t remember the last time we had a Nigerian in Liverpool apart from Victor Moses’ brief stint there.
“This is going to be a fantastic move for him and I think his transfer fee is likely going to go up because it could happen shortly after the World Cup.
“Ndidi has been doing well at Leicester; he is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the EPL now and should command that kind of transfer.
“I don’t think he will struggle at Liverpool
“I see Ndidi walking straight into that Liverpool’s side.”
