Manchester United head-coach Jose Mourinho has opened the door for Arsenal to sign Armenia international midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the reports from Britain.
After Man Utd 3-0 win over Stoke City this evening, Mourinho explained why Mkhitaryan had not made into the Red Devils squad.
The Portuguese manager has claimed that decision was not purely tactical, leading to suggestions that Armenia midfielder could be on his way out from Manchester United.
The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder could reportedly be included in a player-plus-cash deal that help Manchester United to secure the services of Alexis Sanchez.
When asked about Mkhitaryan’s future, Man Utd boss told Sky Sports News: “He is a Manchester United player. He is a player I like and of high quality.
“Is he going to be involved in a deal to leave us? It is possible, but it is also possible that he stays. I am trying to protect him and the team. The market is open. I have a squad of 32 players and I want to keep a squad of 32 players.”
The Red Devils may face competition for signing Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez amid reports that Chelsea have now joined the race for his signature.
