Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has been a top candidate to take Antonio Conte’s job this summer and Italian manager is reportedly keen on making Gonzalo Higuain his first signing at Old Trafford.

The Premier League season has come to an end; the Blues failed to defend the title and miss out qualification for Champions League football.

And the 59-year-old Sarri wants to reunite with Higuain, who has scored 36 league goals in just 35 games for Napoli while the pair worked together.

This term Higuain has only managed to score 23-goals in all competitions for Juventus, however, he has still been one of the best No.9 in Europe at the moment.

This is according to the Daily Mail, who further reports that Napoli current boss, Maurizio Sarri has £7m release clause in his deal whilst he is also instructing his current staff members to take English lessons.

Sarri is regarded as one of the best head-coaches in Europe, having turned Napoli into a serious Serie A title contenders, however, his side still finished second in Italian top-flight.
