Manchester United will join Chelsea in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.

Sandro has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with the Blues coming on the verge to seal the deal last summer.

The player is believed to be desperate for a move to the English top-tier.

After a switch failed to transpire last summer now, Juventus are believed to be ready to sell him around £60million.

Chelsea remains keen on to lure Brazilian defender as a long-term replacement for Marcos Alonso.

Man City are also believed to be in the mix. It’s now emerged that Jose Mourinho also want to sign the 26-year-old defender, with The Times reporting that the Juventus player is their ‘preferred option’.

The Red Devils head-coach wants to resolve problems at left-back with the club currently having more quantity than quality.

Ashley Young has emerged as the preferred choice this campaign, however, there is also Luke Shaw,  Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind who could take up the role. Mourinho doesn’t view any of them as the long-term future.
