Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho is determined to sign Monaco’s creative midfielder Bernardo Silva this summer and is prioritising the transfer of £70m-rated star.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with some Monaco players this term. However, Jose Mourinho seems to be an admirer of Silva’s talent and wants to work with him.
The Ligue 1 giants are on course to reclaim the league title from PSG especially after Unai Emery’s side 1-3 defeat against Nice, and they are also fighting to win the CL title.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been at the forefront of Monaco’s season and has 8 goals in 48 games for Leonardo Jardim’s men this term.
Former Chelsea manager is said to be impressed with the Portugal international’s work-rate and believes Silva could be an ideal partner for Paul Pogba.
That would provide Mourinho the opportunity to play Henrikh Mkhitaryan in his favoured number 10 position and Armenian star will have the opportunity to improve his form at Old Trafford.
Mourinho will be handed significant funds to invest in his squad with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney are expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
