Manchester United are planning to hijack Arsenal move for Monaco star Thomas Lemar as Jose Mourinho search for a new winger.
Former Chelse and Real Madrid manager has made signing an explosive forward a priority after missing out on Ivan Perisic and Gareth Bale.
According to the Daily Record reports, the Red Devils now have switched targets to Lemar, who has been valued around €60 million (£54.4m) by Monaco.
Jose Mourinho’s side see him as a better option than Inter Milan’s Perisic.
Mourinho likes Lemar’s versatility and ready to rival Arsenal in the transfer race for his signature.
The Gunners have long been linked with the signing of French forward as Wenger has identified him as a long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez who has been rumoured with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
Monaco have already lost their key players Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy, Bernando Silva and now they are keen on to hold on Lemar in order to compete for all possible trophies.
Mourinho has made it clear that he is keen on to sign one more player before the end of the summer transfer window.
He is also interested in signing of a new left-back and eyeing move for Danny Rose.
