Liverpool are looking to bring in Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina on loan for the 2018-19 season, according to the reports from Spain.
The 23-year-old Colombian defender has been used just four times in all competitions at Barcelona since arriving from Palmeiras during the January transfer window.
Valverde is now hoping to send Colombian attacker away from Camp Nou to gain regular first-team football in Europe and, according to El Chiringuito, the Merseyside Reds lead the race to land him at Anfield ahead of the new season.
The competition will reportedly be provided by Villareal, Valencia, Sevilla and Cela Vigo but, with Spanish clubs not put off by his lack of playing time in recent months.
Mina was given a 10-minute runout in Barca’s 5-1 win against Villarreal on Tuesday night, claiming an assist for Ousmane Dembele’s second goal of the game.
