Liverpool will launch a €50 million bid for Sporting Lisbon forward Gelson Martins.
According to the A Bola reports, Liverpool have already had €40m (£35m) rejected by Sporting.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are going to make a renewed effort to sign the 22-year-old’s €60m (£52.5m) release clause.
Earlier last week reports in Portugal suggested that Man Utd have also joined the race for Sporting Lisbon forward.
However, Liverpool are confident that their improved bid could convince Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho to sell the 22-year-old winger.
The Portuguese winger was one of Sporting’s standout players last term as he has managed to score six goals and provided nine assists in the process.
The Merseyside Reds also in private talks with Mohamed Salah as they are closing in on a £90,000 a week deal for Roma’s forward.
Jurgen Klopp is desperate to strengthen his squad ahead of 2017/18 season following the Merseyside Reds return to the Champions League football, signing Gelson Martins and Mohamed Salah this summer will be a priority for German manager to compete for all possible trophies next season.
