With Merseyside derby is getting closer, Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren is prepared for a physical battle with Everton’s powerhouse Romelu Lukaku.
Everton’s forward who has scored 9 Premier League goals will face Liverpool defenders on Monday night and after 2-1 win over Arsenal and now Ronald Koeman’s side hope to win over their arch rivals.
‘Everton have some top players and Lukaku is one of them,’ Lovren told the Liverpool Echo.
‘He has proved it over many years in the Premier League that he is one of the best strikers in the league.’
Despite knowing the threat that Lukaku possesses, Lovren doesn’t fear a battle with the 23-year-old striker.
‘It will be a tough challenge but I am ready. We are all ready to fight,’ he added.
‘Physically, I am fine. I had a small problem but it is gone now.’
Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table with nine points separating from league leaders Chelsea, Antonio Conte’s side now sit on top of the competition after securing their 11th straight win.
