Atletico Madrid have announced that Croatian full-back Sime Vrsaljko has penned a new deal with the team amid interest from Liverpool.
The 26-year-old defender during the January transfer window has been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool and Napoli but now he has penned a contract extension and will remain at Spanish capital for another three years.
“I am very happy to be able to continue growing here, I feel very comfortable and I only think about working every day to be important in the team,” the defender told Madrid’s official website.
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently have Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez available at right-back position, with England international Nathaniel Clyne is still yet to be recovered from the Injury.
Liverpool have signed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton during the January transfer window in a deal worth £75m and being heavily linked with signing his countryman Stefan de Vrij.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have finalised the transfer of Colombian wonderkid Anderson Arroyo after handing defender a trial at Melwood and now officially secure the services of South American wonderkid.
