Serie A champions Juventus ready to rival Liverpool in the transfer race for Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij – however, want to land next year on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old defender made 27 appearances for Lazio last season in Serie A, is believed to be on top of Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist.
Earlier last month reports suggested that Juventus are also keeping close tabs on Dutchman’s situation at Lazio.
The Dutch international defender has one year remaining on his current deal, so Lazio knows that the price for a defender is low and won’t cash in on his signature.
It has been reported that Lazio ready to sell Stefan de Vrij if they receive a £35m bid for his signature.
They are also hoping to try defender with a new lucrative new long-term contract and keep him at Stadio Olimpico.
However, according to the Corriere dello Sport, Italian champions are now hoping he sees out the remainder of his current deal and sign Dutchman for free.
The report also suggests that if he does, Juventus ready to double his salary and hand him new five-year-deal.
