Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane has been heavlily linked with Old Trafford move since Jose Mourinho too in charge of the club.
However, French defender turned down offers from Man Unite in order to remain at Santiago Bernabeu and fight for first-team role.
The 23-year-old star has recently confirmed interest from Man United and added that it was hard to say “No” to Mourinho, who has gave him his debut at Santiago Bernabeu and played a vital role for his development.
“Of course it’s flattering. Manchester United are a very big club. But from the moment when Madrid and I are in sync on my project, there’s no questions to ask yourself,” Varane, who is under contract in the Spanish capital until 2020, said.
“I have always said I feel good in Madrid. It’s not easy to say ‘No’ to Jose Mourinho, but you have to weigh up the pros and the cons. We’re men, we have decisions to make and that’s how it is.”
France international star has developed into a world-class defender since moving to Los Blancos from French outfits Lens back in 2011 bearing the tag of being one of the game’s most promising youngsters.
