Juventus superstar Gonzalo Higuain has fuelled the speculation that he could leave Turin by reporting that he ‘would love to play in England.
The Argentina international forward has been on the Blues radar this summer and has already reportedly been offered a switch to Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old forward has signed for the Serie A giants from Napoli back in July 2016 and has three years left on his current deal with Italian champions.
But the Argentine forward has refused to rule out switch to Premier League.
‘I have a contract with Juventus and no one has communicated anything different,’ he told ESPN in Argentina.
‘I’m very calm, my soul stays in Turin for now.
‘But I would love to play in the Premier League, it fascinates me a lot.’
The Blues centre-forward Alvaro Morata has struggled to shine at Chelsea since his transfer from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The Spaniard has found back of the net 15 times in 48 games for the Blues during the 2017-18 season, compared to Higuain’s 23 in 50.
Argentina international forward has trained with his Jorge Sampaoli side on Thursday at Barcelona’s training ground ahead of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, another world-class no.9 Robert Lewandowski has been rumoured with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
