Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata will not be at Stamford Bridge next season, claims ex-Arsenal striker Paul Merson.
Spain international forward has been linked with an exit from Chelsea in the recent weeks, Morata has started his Blues career in fine form since arriving from Real Madrid.
However, his performances have dipped dramatically with scoring only three goals in 20 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side.
Serie A champions Juventus, who Morata spent two years are believed to interested with re-signing the Spanish forward ahead of the next season.
And Merson believes that both parties would be happy to get the deal done.
“We talk about confidence, and he’s lost his,” Merson said on Sky Sports this afternoon.
“I cannot see him being there next season.
“There’s talk today about him going to Juventus, I think that ticks the boxes.
“I just don’t see him being at Chelsea. I just don’t think he suits the Premier League, he’s not that kind of player.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been linked with a summer move for Argentine no.9 Gonzalo Higuain who has scored 23-year-old goals for Juve this campaign.
Reports from Italy have even suggested that two parties could agree on a swap deal in order to lure Morata at Allianz Stadium and Higuain to the opposite side.
