Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly both keen on signing Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The Reds are interested in signing the 21-year-old versatile midfielder, according to French outlet Le Progres.
Ndombele has been linked to Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with L’Equipe reporting Spurs enquired after Ndombele last month and were ready to pay his £53m asking price.
The Lyon playmaker has emerged as one of Europe’s most wanted players after an excellent season for the Ligue 1 giants.
The Reds reported interest is obviously a bit of a threat to Spurs. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have the advantage to secure his services ahead of the next season.
The Merseyside Reds attempts to persuade Ndombele, and their desire to pay up, are complicated by their signing of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho earlier this summer transfer window.
His arrival means the Reds have already signed a quality player in the midfield area and could let Spurs to secure the services of Lyon playmaker ahead of the next season.
Meanwhile, Naby Keita has also arrived at Liverpool and the Reds midfield looks solid for the next campaign.
