Chelsea will go head-to-head with Arsenal over Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard in the summer, according to reports
Antonio Conte is keen to make a summer bid for the England international, as the 24-year-old is regarded as being able to play both as a wing-back AND as a forward in the Blues 3-4-3 formation.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger searching for a quality replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is expected to leave during upcoming transfer window, with Liverpool said to be interested.
However, it won’t be an easy task for either Premier League giants to secure Lingard’s services.
The Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is aware that Lingard could leave for free at the end of next season and reportedly United are to hold negotiations with versatile forward over a new contract.
The €21m-rated midfielder may not be one of the most glamorous attacking options in United squad at the moment, but he’s evolved into a very handy option for the Special One.
Despite the lack of playing time, Lingard has been impressive for the 20-time English champions and has had a hand in seven goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
