AS Monaco have joined Liverpool in the transfer race for French sensation Jordy Gaspar.
Lyon starlet emerged as a transfer target for Serie A champions Juventus and Liverpool in the recent months.
The 20-year-old defender has finished last season with making only four Ligue 1 appearances under his belt, however, it has been enough to show his potential.
And now Ligue 1 champions Monaco have moved quickly to sign him up despite interest form Juventus and Liverpool.
Vadim Vasilyev, Monaco’s vice president, told the club’s official website: “We are pleased to announce the signing of Jordy Gaspar to AS Monaco.
“He is a young, exciting French prospect recognized for his potential and who will find all the conditions to progress here under the influence of Leonardo Jardim.
Meanwhile, Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has told his friends that he is expecting to leave the club this summer.
The Saints full-back is a man in demand with Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City all want to sign him.
