Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen has agreed to remain at Stamford Bridge for four-and-a-half-year after signing a new deal.
The 21-year-old Denmark international has impressed for the Blues this campaign, taking part in 22 games so far.
Since returning from two-year loan spell Borussia Monchengladbach, Christensen has established himself as the key player at Antonio Conte’s three-man defence being in the pecking order ahead of David Luiz who has struggled for first-team minutes after his skacky performance against Roma in the Champions League group stage.
The new deal will keep the 21-year-old center-back at Stamford Bridge until 2022, after initially signing with Chelsea back in 2012.
“It feels really good to sign a new contract and I’m just happy to be committed to Chelsea for the future,” Christensen told the club website.
“I’ve played a lot of games, I’m enjoying it at the club and everything is working well.”
Dane has made a total of 25 first-team appearances for the Blues since his switch from Danish club Brondby and now looks like to become a regular under Antonio Conte.
