Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has insisted that he is ‘ready to stop Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League final this weekend.
Portuguese international forward has been in stunning form this campaign scoring 15 goals in the Champions League, while no player has found the net more times in the history of the European competition than he.
Real Madrid superstar will enter the match off the back of scoring 44 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions this term. However, Lovren is confident of dealing with him in Kiev.
“Throughout 15 years, every year he (Ronaldo) scores more than 30 goals. Even if he has a bad season he scores 30 goals, so you need to pay attention to that,” Lovren told reporters.
“We play in the Premier League against some of the best strikers in the world and we know how to defend like a team. Of course some parts of the game it will be one-against-one. It will be tough but it’s a challenge that I’m ready for.”
Real Madrid are favourites to win the Champions League title third consecutive time but Liverpool’s pacy game could be a key to stop Zinedine Zidane’s side.
